WebThe only way to keep a d-tuna and float is a device like a tremolo stabilizer, it functions like a block but its got a tough spring on it that still allows you to pull up but stiff enough to resist the slight tension change from tuning, they are a MAJOR pain to set up perfectly though.

I like the Tremol-No because you get a totally normal tremolo operation when it isn't engaged. The other two will stiffen the trem quite a bit and you will have a "zero point" that you will feel.

WebOn my two previous floyd rose guitars, I was able to set the fine tuner so that E was pretty much tightened to almost as tight as it can go, which gave me enough adjustment room to get to drop D with it backed out almost all the way. WebD-Tunas work natively with a decked Floyd Rose, so one that can't be pulled back on. If you want to use it on a fully floating Floyd with a route, you'll need to block the trem for dive-only operatiom. But also a D-Tuna is too long to fit in that route in the first place.
