I've tried both cave exploring and strip mining at y=-60 per Xisumavoid's recommendation and I swear I get hardly any diamonds at all. Way less than 1.17 in the same amount of time. WebI watched countless tutorials on "best method to find diamonds in 1.18" and they get like 100+ diamonds in an hour while I here used the exact same method and only got 6 diamonds. i dont think its because im unlucky or anything, iv played in three 1.18 worlds by now and the amount of diamonds I find is around the same.
